"When it came time to replace my previous sport sedan, Volvo surged to the lead of the pack with their brand new 2004 S60 R. Boasting a street price thousands below its competitors, it's an innovative car with all-wheel drive and a unique active suspension that allows me to choose Comfort, Sport or Advanced Sport modes. The active suspension adjusts shock dampening and body pitch and yaw with microprocessors that assess the driving conditions many times each second. This comfortable, spacious, silver-gray dream car cranks out an amazing 300 HP with its fuel-efficient 2.5 liter turbo engine. I can convert it from a sleek family car to a dynamic sports machine with just a stab of my right foot on the throttle, and by flicking through the six-speed short-throw manual transmission.

Naturally, since it's a Volvo, speed is balanced with a list of safety features, such as massive Brembo racing brakes, side and head airbags, and special seats designed to protect my family and me from whiplash in the event of an accident. I was lucky enough to be at the head of the line for the first S60 R delivered in my area and was so thrilled when I took ownership of this car that I took my first set of pictures right in the dealership showroom! A few days later, I drove it home to Marblehead, MA."
